Our mission:

Organized and founded in June of 2012 to preserve and promote the history of Bridgewater, Virginia.

Located in the center of town with convenient parking, we maintain a Museum and Gift Shop for our patrons.

A visual history can provide a story of the people, places and lives of a community.

Below are selected photographs that show various events in the history of Bridgewater.

The museum is open on Friday - Saturday from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Visit the museum to view other historical photographs. The town is downstream of the confluence of two rivers and has been flooded several times. Collection photos show the result of these events. In 1951 the Corps of Engineers completed a nearly one-mile long earthen structure to protect the town in the future.
